There’s nothing quite like the theatre, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
I’m a trained playwright, lyricist, theatre educator, and dramaturg, earning my MFA in Dramatic Writing from Arizona State University in 2018. I write both straight plays and musicals, with more of a focus on the latter.
As an instructor and faculty associate at ASU, I created and taught a unique seminar on contemporary musical theatre, partnering with ASU Gammage and the touring companies of Waitress, Dear Evan Hansen, and Anastasia. I also developed the university’s first seminar focused exclusively on writing for musical theatre, and I have also taught screenwriting and dramatic theory. I worked as a dramaturg for Southwest Shakespeare Company’s productions of Romeo and Juliet and Sense and Sensibility, and was the research and dramaturgy assistant on Oregon Shakespeare Festival’s Romeo and Juliet for the 2017-2018 season.
My plays and musicals include: Til Death (book and lyrics), which debuted at the Kerr Cultural Center in the ASU Lyric Opera Theatre’s 2018 new works series and was part of the 2019 Phoenix Theatre Festival of New American Theatre; Forget Me Not (Pandora Festival of New Works/Arizona Women’s Theatre Company); City of Ladies (semi-finalist for the Bridge Initiative Playwright of the Year).

My current project is a pop-rock adaptation of Jane Austen’s Persuasion, with music by Anna Marcus-Hecht. Check out our first look at Virtual Jane Con 2024 below:
